Tubinger Chamber Orchestra

The Tubinger Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1957 with the original intention of encouraging friendship between international universities and youth organisations and building bridges between young musicians from all over the world.
The impressive result has been 69 concert tours in 90 countries, often accompanied by renowned soloists.
Conductor Gudni Emilsson has served as artistic director of the Tubinger Chamber Orchestra since 1999.
Gudni Emilson graduated in Trossingen, Germany, with a master’s degree in piano and conducting. He has been awarded prizes by the Herbert von Karajan Foundation and the Richard Wagner Foundation, and was honoured by the Deutschen Musikrat.
His musical travels have taken him to festivals and stages around the world. He has appeared as the guest conductor of numerous orchestras and ensembles not only in Germany, but also in other European countries, the US, Brazil and Viet Nam.
