Hyunah Park – cello
Hyunah Park was born in South Korea.
She finished bachelor’s degree at Sookmyung Women’s University in Korea under Prof. Heechul Chae and Sungeun Chang and master’s degree at Toho University of Music in Japan under Prof. Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Hisaya Dogin and Ko Iwasaki.
Having revealed an outstanding musical talent from her earliest childhood, she has shown her exceptional musicianship by winning numerous music competitions in Korea including the first prize from the Daejin University Music Competition, and the third prize from the Hanjeon Arts Center Music Competition. Participating various master-classes, such as the master-class of Tatjana Vassiljeva hosted by Japan National Cello Association, Youngchang Cho, Myung-hwa Chung and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, has made her even more thoroughly disciplined. She has not only given many recitals, but also experienced taking a part as an orchestral cello player in Seoul Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Toho Orchestra Academy and Lindenbaum Festival Orchestra conducted by Charles Dutoit.
As she received her master’s degree at the Toho University of Music in Japan, she participated in Suntory Hall Chamber Music Academy held at Suntory Hall Chamber Music Garden with an honor of being the first fellow. In 2012, she was invited as a soloist to a regular concert hosted by the Toho University of Music and Toho Orchestra Academy.
Recently, she is pursuing her postgraduate diploma in Vienna, University of Music and Performing Arts(MDW), and broadening her musical experience to Europe. Her virtuosity has been recognized and invited to the concerts as a soloist by many prominent orchestras in Europe such as Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma in Rome, Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra in Prague, Romanian National Radio Orchestra in Bucharest, Capella Istropolitana Chamber Orchestra in Vienna, Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra in Tulln(Austria), Kharkov Philharmonic Orchestra in Kharkov(Ukraine), Mihail Jora Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra in Bacau(Romania), and Matera Duni Chamber Orchestra in Hamburg. In 2015, she is planning to have concerts in Europe and USA.
